Written last night as my general state approached sobriety, after a very meaningful, comforting conversation with two people I barely know.
I am not alone alone. We are all alone together. Recognition of this togetherness takes many forms. Sometimes it's sex. Sometimes it's friendship. Sometimes it's in the form of love. Each form is different in shape but they all share a common substance. The idea that love is the only way to experience true togetherness is a falsity. The belief that this togetherness must occur in twos and twos only suffocates and destroys. The concept that popularity keeps one from being lonely is based on false presumptions about the universe around us. We are all very similar. We are all human. The world is one adventure after another, waiting to be written. So we write. We live. We love. We fuck. We try, and we fail. We pick ourselves up and try again. Most importantly, we constantly re-evaluate ourselves as human beings. And we never stop striving to eliminate the loneliness, one adventure after another.
